Job summary

SAIC seeks a Principal Systems Engineer to support the Air Force Sentinel program at Hill AFB, Utah. You will serve as the trusted technical advisor on engineering and acquisition decisions, guiding large-scale initiatives and ensuring formal review readiness.

Lead requirements management, MBSE, and verification activities while mentoring engineers and aligning with government policies and safety standards for a highly regulated defense program.

Qualifications

• 9+ years of professional engineering experience.
• Active U.S. Government Secret clearance.
• Expertise in MBSE processes and tools.
• Extensive experience in requirements management and traceability (DOORS).
• Leadership in planning and executing major technical milestone reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR).
• Understanding of verification and validation for large-scale, regulated systems.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical advisor to the U.S. Air Force on engineering and acquisition decisions for the Sentinel program.
• Develop and oversee strategy for technical milestone reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR) including review materials.
• Review Prime contractor designs, drawings, and deliverables for compliance with technical requirements, policy, and safety.
• Oversee requirements management and traceability with tools like DOORS.
• Lead system verification and validation efforts for highly regulated systems.
• Act as technical lead for issue resolution, risk management, and mitigation across teams.
• Mentor systems engineers at all levels and contribute to organizational growth.
