Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer / Senior Principal Systems Engineer to join our Systems Engineering team. This individual contributor role supports an IPT with responsibilities in requirements development, interface control, verification planning, and documentation.

Location options include Oklahoma City, OK; Melbourne, FL; or Rancho Bernardo, CA. Clearances are required; relocation assistance may be available, and the team emphasizes collaboration

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 5+ years of systems engineering experience.
• Master’s degree in a STEM discipline with 3+ years of systems engineering experience.
• PhD in STEM with relevant experience or none required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret or higher clearance.
• Experience with requirements and verification management in DOORS.

Responsibilities

• Perform requirements development, allocation, verification/validation planning.
• Lead milestone events to ensure program requirements are met or mitigated.
• Write complex specifications, interface control documents, and engineering reports.
• Coordinate with program and subsystem leads for interfaces and verification.
• Maintain SE artifacts with proper configuration management.
• Coordinate verification across IPTs and with external customers.
• Communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Adhere to the IPT SOW and manage changes with program leadership.
• Ensure information is defined, collected, shared, stored and retrievable.
