Axcelis Technologies, headquartered in Beverly, MA, is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to own platform robotics, wafer handling, and vacuum architecture across current and next-generation equipment.

You will translate product needs into system requirements, lead cross-disciplinary trade studies, and drive verification of mechanical, electrical, controls, software, safety, and vacuum subsystems. This role advances manufacturing technology for semiconductor capital equipment.

• 7+ years developing complex electromechanical equipment.
• Experience translating product needs into system architecture, interfaces, and verification.
• Experience leading technical trade studies and design reviews.
• Hands-on experience with semiconductor or vacuum-process equipment, or industrial robotics.

Responsabilidades

• Own platform architecture for wafer handling, robotics, vacuum, chamber interfaces, and equipment automation.
• Translate product needs into requirements, interface definitions, performance budgets, and verification plans.
• Lead architecture trades involving throughput, wafer safety, particle performance, reliability, serviceability, cost, and platform reuse.
• Lead system integration and root-cause investigations on real hardware; support NPI from concept through production readiness.
• Establish reusable platform requirements and design rules across Purion product lines; mentor engineers in systems thinking.

The range provides the opportunity for growth and progression asyou develop within the role.Base pay is one part of our U.S. total compensation package which includes eligibility in theAxcelis Team Incentive bonus plan, and comprehensive benefits package (for regularemployees working 20+ hours a week).
