RTX’s Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SETC) Surface Radars & Sensors Center in Huntsville, AL seeks a Principal Systems Engineer to drive GBR architecture and requirements, define system-level performance, and integrate models and tools. We specialize in concept development, architecture design, requirements generation and flow-down, modeling and simulation, systems analysis, integration, test, and evaluation of advanced Missile Defense and Sensor Systems. In this role, you will support the modernization of Ground-Based Radar (GBR) systems by defining and analyzing system requirements, developing system architectures, and partnering closely with system, software, and integration/test engineering teams.

What You Will Do

• You will lead architecture and requirements development activities that define, characterize, develop and document Ground Based Radar (GBR) systems in the form of architectural framework updates, system-of-system functional and performance requirements, detailed algorithm descriptions, test scenario definition, and verification approach.
• You will conduct requirements analysis to verify system-level performance requirements.
• Experience coding system models, algorithms, test scripts, and evaluation tools for radar performance analysis.
• Experience collaborating with multi‑disciplinary teams and communicating with stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience interfacing with customers and leading technical solutions to complex problems.
• Experience developing and maintaining engineering processes and tools.
• Experience with Agile development practices, including JIRA and Confluence.
• Excellent communication, technical writing, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Experience working independently and within geographically distributed teams.
• This role is based onsite in Huntsville, AL.
• Travel is 10% - 15% domestically.

Qualification You Must Have

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.
• Experience with radar systems.
• Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and/or Cameo.
• Experience with MATLAB and/or Linux.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
