Job summary

Collins Aerospace's Mission Systems team seeks a Verification Test Lead/Principal Systems Engineer with an active Secret clearance to drive testing across C2BMC programs, partnering with civilian, military, and contractor teams to deliver high-assurance capabilities.

The role emphasizes test strategy, agile test-driven development, risk management, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure program milestones are met and quality is built in from the start.

Qualifications

  • IAT2 (Security+ or equivalent) required
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in verification and testing
  • Proficiency with Windows and MS Office or Linux operating systems
  • Knowledge of hardware and software verification/validation, test reporting, regression testing
  • Strong ability to manage multiple projects across teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • STEM degree with 8+ years or advanced degree with 5+ years
  • Active/transferable Secret clearance and US citizenship

Responsibilities

  • Lead test activities across the program and define a cohesive test strategy for C2BMC tasks and capabilities.
  • Provide technical support for Agile Product Teams and I&T activities.
  • Define and implement overarching test strategies across capabilities.
  • Present verification plans and status updates at milestone reviews and leadership forums.
  • Represent the C2BMC National Team in Test Working Groups on testing strategies.
  • Coordinate lab test and installation activities with internal/external partners.
  • Review and provide feedback on detailed test and analysis procedures.
  • Identify and mitigate risks with regular status updates.

We are seeking highly skilled and experienced Verification Test Lead/Principal Systems Engineer with an active secret clearance to play a pivotal role in the development, testing, and deployment of our advanced systems. This position will focus on driving test and verification efforts across projects, ensuring alignment with program processes, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality capabilities. The role requires daily technical and programmatic interaction with civilian, military, and contractor leadership, as well as technical teams, to achieve mission success.

What You Will Do:
  • Lead test activities across the program, including defining and executing a cohesive test strategy for C2BMC (Command & Control, Battle Management, and Communications) Task Orders and Capabilities.
  • Provide technical support for Agile Product Teams and Integration & Test (I&T) activities.
  • Define and implement overarching test strategies for capabilities across the program.
  • Present verification plans and status updates at program milestone reviews and to leadership teams.
  • Represent the C2BMC National Team in Test Working Groups to define testing strategies for program capabilities.
  • Coordinate lab test and installation activities with internal teams and external partners, including Ballistic Missile Defense Support Systems (BMDSS), Test Bed Contractors, Test Bed Lab Managers, and MDA BCX.
  • Review and provide technical feedback on detailed test and analysis procedures.
  • Identify and mitigate risks and provide regular status updates on identified risks.

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • IAT2 (Security+ or equivalent) required
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in a related discipline, focusing on verification and testing.
  • Proficiency with computers, including Windows and MS Office or Linux operating systems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of hardware and software verification and validation processes, test reporting, regression testing, and test data analysis.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple projects across multiple teams.
  • Skilled in technical troubleshooting and analysis of test-bed configurations for hardware, software, stimulus, and information assurance issues or functionality.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize inputs from multiple personnel into technical reports and present information in public forums.
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government-issued Secret clearance is required prior to the start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Prior experience with C2BMC systems.
  • Experience in Agile Test-Driven Development methodologies.
  • Familiarity with the integration and testing of Command & Control systems, particularly within the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) environment and external C2BMC element interfaces.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
