Job summary

Associates Systems LLC in Sterling, VA seeks a Principle Systems Engineer to drive MBSE-led design, integration and testing on-site. You will lead cross‑disciplinary activities and work closely with government and contractor teams to deliver complex engineering solutions.

Requirements include 8+ years of engineering experience, a STEM degree, and an active TS/SCI with CI Poly. Proficiency in Python and familiarity with RFC processes and rapid delivery methods are highly valued.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of engineering experience with MBSE and system modeling.
• Bachelor’s degree in STEM or related field is required.
• Active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph is mandatory for access.

Responsibilities

• Lead MBSE activities and system modeling across design, integration, and test.
• Collaborate with government, military, SETA, and contractor teams.
• Apply Digital Engineering practices to streamline workflows and data flows.
• Develop software in Python and contribute to system-level tooling.

Job description

This effort is on-Site in Sterling, VA.

Employment type: Full Time W-2 or Contract.

Rate: open to Negotiation.

Principle Systems Engineer

• Experience applying Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles, including system modeling with Cameo, or equivalent tools.
• Familiarity with Digital Engineering practices and tool chains to enhance design, integration, and test workflows.
• Experience with high level programming languages (e.g. Python).
• Demonstrated engineering technical abilities and project management experience.
• Experience collaborating with internal and external customers in a team environment (Government, Military, SETA, and Contractor).
• Active and transferable TS/SCI with CI Polygraph.

Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 8+ years of prior engineering experience.

Pluses

• Experience with systems installation, integration, and test activities.
• Proficiency in relevant programming languages (Python, C++, etc).
• Experience with Request for Change (RFC) impact reviews and assessment processes.
• Experience with customer NSIS requirements and rapid delivery methods.
• Evidence of strong customer relationships and stakeholder engagement.
• Experience working across contract and location boundaries
• Proficiency with Atlassian JIRA, Confluence, and collaborative engineering tools. communication.
