Job summary

Argotec in Melbourne, FL is seeking a Systems Engineer to coordinate and review design, development, and testing activities for space applications. You will work autonomously with a seasoned multi-functional team from Argotec’s headquarters, helping establish a digital, model-based systems engineering environment and supporting proposal efforts.

The role requires a BS in STEM and extensive related experience, plus clear English communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Science, Engineering, or related STEM field; typically 14+ years of engineering or related experience
• US Citizenship or US Permanent Residency
• Excellent written and oral communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and review design, development, and testing activities for space applications.
• Work independently with support from Argotec’s headquarters multi-functional team.
• Establish a digital, model-based systems engineering environment.
• Provide proposal support.
• Assess system performance, design trades, and evaluate system effectiveness.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

As Systems Engineer you will report to the Chief Technology Officer and will be responsible for coordinating and reviewing design, development, and testing activities for space applications.

In this position, you will have the opportunity to work independently and autonomously with the support of an experienced multi-functional team from Argotec’s headquarters.

Specific Duties Include:

• Establishing our digital, model-based systems engineering environment
• Proposal support
• Assessing system performance, designing trades, and evaluating system effectiveness
• Development and management of program specifications
• Management of technical documents (Design Description, ICD, Test Procedures, Technical Specifications etc.)

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor of Science degree in Science, Engineering, or other related STEM discipline and typically 14 or more years of Engineering or relevant experience (relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of education)
• US Citizenship or US Permanent Residency
• Excellent written and oral communication in English.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

• Team player and a “Do what it takes” attitude
• Progressive experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
• Strong background in any of the following areas:
• Demonstrated knowledge of Systems Engineering principles and practices
• Progressive experience leading multi-disciplinary design and development teams
• Advanced understanding of requirements management, functional requirements parsing, derivation, and allocation; systems design, systems integration, technical risk identification and management strategies, and Verification and Validation (V&V) principles
• Great problem-solving skills.

PREFERRED SKILLS

• Background in Model-Based Systems Engineering
• Experience with requirements management and system modeling tools
• Experience or certification in INCOSE standards
• Background in the Space or Defense
• Progressive experience leading baseline definition and maturation in a complex development setting, including the use of high-impact trade studies
• Ability to establish and track Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
