Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Principal Supply Chain Procurement Specialist in Salt Lake City, to manage procurement for multiple programs. The role requires full-time office presence and a strong background in sourcing hardware, COTS items, and machined components.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of procurement or related experience or a relevant advanced degree, plus SAP experience and proficiency with MS Office. U.S. citizenship is required for this position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required with 5+ years of experience, or Master’s degree with 3+ years in procurement or related fields, or equivalent of 8+ years of experience.
• Experience with SAP or a similar ERP system.
• MS Office suite experience.
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Source and procure hardware components, COTS items, and machined components in support of production programs.
• Proficiency in price analyses, negotiations, policies and procedures, and FAR/DFARS compliance.
• Place and oversee procurement packages.
• Initiate RFQs/Proposals and analyze proposed pricing from suppliers.
• Evaluate supplier quality and reliability with the quality organization.
• Collaborate with internal customers to verify specifications.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and manage risk through targeted negotiations.
• Manage purchase orders and ensure compliance with public law requirements and import/export regulations.
• Review, reconcile and approve supplier invoices.

Job Overview

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Principal Supply Chain Procurement Specialist located in Salt Lake City, Utah. This position will require you to be in the office full time.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and procure several commodities such as hardware components, COTS items, machined components in support of production programs.
• Proficiency in the procurement process, including price analysis, negotiations, policies and procedures, and FAR and DFARS.
• Place and oversee procurement packages.
• Initiate requests for quotations and proposals, analyze proposed pricing from potential suppliers.
• Evaluate and monitor supplier quality and reliability in conjunction with the quality organization.
• Work with internal customers to ensure specifications are appropriate for the services or products required.
• Identify opportunities to reduce cost, improve efficiency and manage risk through targeted negotiations.
• Manage purchase order performance, ensuring compliance with public law requirements and company policies, including import/export regulations.
• Review, reconcile and approve supplier invoices.
• Interface and collaborate with Programs and other organizations within and outside of Global Supply Chain.
• Plan, schedule and arrange activities to accomplish objectives.
• Possess outstanding written and verbal communication skills and be extremely organized.
• Ensure documentation is provided to logistics/transportation & warehouse organization for proper receipt recording.
• Review and approve supplier payments as needed.
• Employ sound business practices and assess supplier performance during follow‑up activities.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with minimum 5 years of experience, or a Master’s degree with minimum 3 years of professional experience in procurement, supply chain management, business and financial planning, contracts administration, project management or closely related fields, or equivalent of 8+ years of relevant work experience.
• Experience with SAP or a similar ERP system.
• MS Office suite experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
• U.S. Citizenship.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft Excel.
• Experience managing suppliers through cost, schedule, quality.
• Professional experience in a regulated industry, including Aerospace & Defense, Insurance, Financial Services, Telecommunications.
• Experience with Critical Path Management, FAR and DFARS.
• Experience negotiating terms and conditions in a corporate setting.
• Experience with government purchasing and contracting.
• Experience analyzing data to formulate and execute effective negotiation strategies.
• Experience administering high dollar value purchase orders and subcontracts.
• Experience leading projects in supply chain.
• Experience communicating written and verbally in a global supply chain environment.

Benefits

Primary Level Salary Range: $73,900.00 - $110,900.00.

Employee may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonus, and Long Term Incentives, depending on position.
