Job summary

About The Role

As a Principal Supplier Quality Engineer, you will lead surveillance of the manufacturing operations performed by suppliers to assess conformity with contractual requirements. You ensure that suppliers implement the nuclear safety culture and report deviations to contractual requirements. You review final documentation and issue quality release at the end of the manufacturing process. You will report to the Manager, Supplier Quality EMEA and work remotely.

Key Responsibilities

• Witness manufacturing activities such as welding, non‑destructive examination, dimensional control, and destructive testing based on the surveillance plan managed by supply chain.
• Raise deviations to contractual requirements in the dedicated template, issue a report after each surveillance activity, and review End of Manufacturing Reports.
• Issue a quality release (QR) prior to shipment of equipment and perform unscheduled oversight based on lessons learned and supplier weaknesses.
• Support supply chain and project team requests and provide information on major events occurring at the supplier facility.
• Back up the SQO team when activities are in parallel or when a team member is on vacation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or industrial engineering.
• 5+ years of experience as a manufacturing inspector or surveillance engineer in the nuclear industry.
• Certification in NDE or welding is preferred (e.g., NF EN ISO 9712, CWI or similar).
• Strong knowledge of NDE, especially UT and RT, and welding activities.
• Knowledge of nuclear construction code/regulation (RCC‑M, ASME, ESPN, etc.).
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes for critical nuclear equipment.
• Willingness to travel often (between 50% and 75%).

Base salary range: $103,200 to $129,000 per year, dependent on experience, qualifications and skills.
