Westinghouse Electric Company LLC is seeking a Principal Supplier Quality Engineer to improve supplier qualification, oversight, issue resolution, and continuous improvement. You will ensure supplier compliance with quality, technical, and contractual requirements for components supporting nuclear plants, reporting to the Sr.

Manager; APX Supply Chain. The role is hybrid with Cranberry Township, PA or Rock Hill, SC locations and no relocation assistance.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in Supplier Quality or related quality roles.
• Experience auditing suppliers, surveillance, and assessments.
• Experience with major mechanical equipment (heavy forgings, vessels, cranes, modules, rotating equipment).
• Experience with global suppliers and international manufacturing oversight; nuclear projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform supplier quality evaluations, audits, surveys, and technical assessments observing Westinghouse procedures and nuclear quality requirements.
• Support supplier qualification and maintenance on the Qualified Supplier List (QSL) including scope verification and ongoing compliance.
• Lead supplier nonconformance resolution, including issuance and closure of SCARs.
• Promote root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, and effectiveness reviews.
• Monitor supplier quality performance metrics and trends.
• Prepare reports and provide status updates to Supply Chain and Quality leadership.

As a Principal Supplier Quality Engineer you will improve processes related to supplier qualification, oversight, issue resolution, and continuous improvement. You will also help ensure supplier compliance with Westinghouse quality, technical, and contractual requirements for components supporting nuclear new plant projects.

You will report to the Sr. Manager; APX Supply Chain and can be located at either our Cranberry, PA or Rock Hill, SC location. This is a hybrid role that does not provide any relocation assistance.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform supplier quality evaluations, audits, surveys, and technical assessments observing Westinghouse procedures and nuclear quality requirements.

Support supplier qualification and maintenance on the Qualified Supplier List (QSL), including scope verification and ongoing compliance.

Ensure APX Supply Chain WBSs implement supplier oversight activities including witness and hold points, inspections, and surveillance at supplier facilities.

Quality Assurance & Compliance

Ensure supplier Quality Assurance Programs comply with applicable standards such as ASME NQA1, 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, ASME Section III, and applicable customer/regulatory requirements.

Review supplier quality plans, procedures, inspection and test plans, and manufacturing documentation.

Support technical and quality reviews of procurement requisitions and change notices.

Lead supplier nonconformance resolution, including issuance and closure of Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs).

Promote root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, and effectiveness reviews.

Monitor supplier quality performance metrics and trends.

Prepare reports and provide status updates to Supply Chain and Quality leadership.

Qualifications:

3+ years of experience in Supplier Quality, Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Quality, or Nuclear Quality.

Experience conducting supplier audits, surveillance, and assessments.

Experience supporting major mechanical equipment (e.g., heavy forgings, pressure vessels, cranes, modules, and rotating equipment).

Experience with global suppliers and international manufacturing oversight.

Prior experience in nuclear new plant or large capital projects.

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $90,000 to $112,500 per year.
