Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking an experienced Principal/Sr. Principal Systems Engineer to support a program from Linthicum, MD or Fairfax, VA. The role covers system engineering, design, integration, verification, and maintenance across all lifecycle stages.

The position requires TS/SCI clearance, strong communication skills, and experience with DoD ground systems and MBSE tools such as DOORS/Cameo. Relocation assistance may be available and health and savings benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and relevant experience as specified; advanced degrees adjust experience requirements.
• Experience with ground systems engineering, systems integrator or software engineer.
• Experience with requirements engineering, verification and validation, and MBSE.
• Experience interfacing with customers and subcontractors.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance and willingness to undergo a polygraph.

Northrop Grumman Space Systems (NGSP) is seeking an experienced Principal/Sr. Principal Systems Engineer supporting our Advanced Tactical Missions Business Unit (BU) to support a program out of our Linthicum, MD or Fairfax, VA locations.

What You'll Get to Do:

• Performs system engineering, integration, verification and validation, for total systems.
• Work is performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, test, installation, operation, and maintenance.
• Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical and schedule constraints.
• Maintain existing operations procedures up-to-date to also include lessons learned from real-time performance.
• Develop new procedures as required.
• Interface with program and customer personnel as required.

Basic Qualifications:

• Principal Systems Engineer: Bachelor's degree and 5 years of relevant experience; 3 years of relevant experience with a Master's; 0 years of relevant experience with a PhD
• Sr. Principal Systems Engineer: Bachelor's degree and 8 years of relevant experience; 6 years of relevant experience with a Master's; 4 years of relevant experience with a PhD
• Proven experience with ground systems engineering, systems integrator or software engineer
• Experience with requirements engineering, working knowledge of Verification and Validation and Model Based Systems Engineering
• Experience working with customers and subcontractors
• Excellent written and oral communications skills
• Experience creating interface description documents.
• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance at time of application and willingness to sit for a polygraph.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with adjudicated polygraph
• Experience using Jira/confluence to collaborate regarding tasking and work instructions inside a team
• Experience using DOORs and/or Cameo for requirements management
• Experience and knowledge working with Hardware integration #NoVASpace

Primary Level Salary Range:

$114,000.00 - $171,000.00

Secondary Level Salary Range:

$142,200.00 - $213,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
