The candidate will coordinate across product development, manufacturing, test, and global supply chain, managing day-to-day interfaces with suppliers while driving continuous improvement and risk mitigation in a multi-disciplinary setting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; years of experience per degree (5 with Bachelors, 3 with Masters, 3 with PhD)
  • Experience with large projects and DoD programs advised
  • US Citizenship with active DoD Secret Clearance (within last 6 years)
  • Ability to obtain SAP approval and Special Access Program access
  • Proficiency in Excel metrics and data analysis; IPT experience

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking Principal / Sr Principal Project Management. This position is in Huntsville, AL.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as primary manufacturing liaison to program management for development and execution of the manufacturing strategy
  • Be the primary product development, manufacturing, test, global supply chain, and mission assurance contact for program activities managing and maintaining the day-to-day interfaces and communications with suppliers.
  • Facilitating internal meetings to support design, production, and problem resolution.
  • Reporting Earned Value Management System (EVMS) and serving as the Cost Account Management (CAM) for manufacturing projects.
  • Assess project and technical issues and develops and drives action plans and resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and stakeholder satisfaction goals and objectives
  • Develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with program managers, engineering, suppliers, line/cell managers, and customers
  • Participating in a product team, responsible for product-level requirements analysis, Manufacturing Readiness Assessments (MRA), engineering and manufacturing of the products assigned, product tracking, and product visibility.
  • Drive continuous improvement through mitigating risks and realizing opportunities
  • Representing manufacturing at the program Risk Review Board (RRB) meetings and creating / managing any applicable manufacturing risks and/or opportunities from the program risk register.
  • Supporting and generating proposal documentation as needed to foster new work including material planning and production scheduling for all aspects of producing product through delivery.
  • The OPM candidate must possess excellent communication skills - both verbal and written; strong interpersonal skills; a good problem-solving mindset; and the ability to present program visibility at internal/external meetings to include all levels of management including executive level.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Basic Qualifications
  • A03: 5 Years experience with Bachelors; 3 Years with Masters; 3 Year with PhD; an additional 1 years of experience an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree
  • A04: 8 Years experience with Bachelors; 6 Years with Masters; 4 Year with PhD; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance, at time of application, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 years.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company to meet its business need.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of project management principles and execution of large projects.
  • Proficiency in creating, maintain and utilizing metrics in excel, and SharePoint. Strong data analytic skill set required.
  • Experience working within an Integrated Product Team (IPT).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
  • Ability to work independently and multitask.
  • 3 year’s experience in manufacturing or production environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Active DoD Top Secret Clearance.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Experience with SAP in a low-volume, high-mix manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience on government contracts and in earned-value management (EVM).
  • Demonstrated experience developing manufacturing production proposals and managing hardware production activities.
Salary

Primary Level Salary Range: $89,900.00 - $134,900.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $112,200.00 - $168,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.

Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.

Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.

In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
