Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS) is seeking a Principal Program Planning Scheduling Analyst (Level 3) or Sr. Principal Analyst to join our on-site team in Palmdale, CA, with up to 50% travel or relocation options to nearby sites.

The role focuses on IMS development, schedule integration across functions, and stringent EVMS practices. The position requires active Secret clearance or higher, MS Project expertise, and experience with IMS and EVM.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience in program planning, scheduling, and/or related fields.
  • Master’s degree with 3+ years in planning or 9 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Active Government Secret clearance or higher required.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and coordinates the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS).
  • Ensures schedules are integrated across finance, engineering, manufacturing and quality.
  • Tracks plans, performs risk analysis, and resolves critical path conflicts.
  • Uses Gantt, PERT, milestones and Earned Value Management to gauge progress and identify variances.

This position will work on-site daily in Palmdale, CA and require up to 25% travel or be located in El Segundo, CA or San Diego, CA and require up to 50% travel.Note: Due to the classified nature of the work being performed, this position does not offer any virtual or telecommute working options. This is an individual contributor role that can be filled at either level.Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:Prepares, develops and coordinates the integrated master plan and integrated master schedule to meet all program objectivesEnsures major projects and program schedules and plans are horizontally and vertically integrated across company functional groups including finance, engineering, material, manufacturing, and qualityTracks plans and schedules, performs risk analysis, identifies and resolves critical path and network logic conflictsUses Gantt, PERT, milestone charts, earned value management and other project management techniques to gauge progress and identify performance variances to facilitate focus and intervention on critical areasBasic Qualifications for Level 3:Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of experience in program planning, scheduling, and/or industry-related fields OR Master’s degree with 3 years of experience in program planning, scheduling, and/or industry-related fields OR 9 years of applicable work experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.Must have an active Government Secret clearance or higher (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Program Access within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.Demonstrated experience in MS Project including, but not limited to, the detail development of an Integrated Master Schedule (IMS).Demonstrated experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) practices.Basic Qualifications for Level 4:Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of experience in program planning, scheduling, and/or industry-related fields OR Master’s degree with 6 years of experience in program planning, scheduling, and/or industry-related fields OR 12 years of applicable work experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.Must have an active Government Secret clearance or higher (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Program Access within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.Demonstrated experience in MS Project including, but not limited to, the detail development of an Integrated Master Schedule (IMS).Demonstrated experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) practices.Preferred Qualifications:Experience in material cost managementStrong proficiency with EVMExperience with SAP and/or COBRAWe offer flexible work arrangements, phenomenal learning opportunities, exposure to a wide variety of projects and customers, and a very friendly inclusive environment! Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
