Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal or Sr. Principal Product Support Engineer to join the Aeronautics Systems – R&AD team.

The role is onsite in El Segundo or San Diego, CA, with a salary range from $114,000 to $213,400 and a strong emphasis on systems engineering, logistics, and proposals for aircraft programs. The position requires an active US government Secret clearance (or higher), willingness to travel up to 25%, and a background in product support and logistics analysis.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor/Master/PhD in STEM with required experience as stated.
  • Active Secret clearance or higher; eligibility for SAP clearance.
  • Experience in Integrated Logistics Elements: Reliability & Maintainability, Prognostic Health Management, Modeling & Simulation, Obsolescence Management, Fleet & Field Support, and more.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% and willingness to work on-site.
  • Experience in proposals and capture activities for Product Support.

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Principal or Sr. Principal Product Support Engineer to join our diverse team of professionals within our Research and Advanced Design organization. This position is located onsite in either El Segundo or San Diego, CA.

* This position may be offered at a Principal (level 3) or Sr. Principal (level 4)*

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provides oversight of all Product Support technical activities
  • Ensures a robust systems engineering approach is executed to support the aircraft design and proposals
  • Demonstrates knowledge and experience of aircraft systems including air vehicle, mission computing, communications, and sensors
  • Demonstrates knowledge and experience of logistics technical disciplines including Supportability, Reliability, Maintainability, Testability, Modeling and Simulation, Provisioning, and Supply Support (Spares and Repairs)
Basic Qualifications for Principal Project Management (level 3):
  • Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline AND 5 years of related professional/military experience OR a Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 3 years of related professional/military experience, OR a STEM Ph.D. AND 1 years of related professional/military experience
  • Must have an active US Government Secret (or higher) clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.
  • Must have experience in the Integrated Logistics Elements: Reliability & Maintainability, Prognostic Health Management, Modeling & Simulation, Obsolescence Management, Fleet & Field Support, Support Equipment Engineering, Logistics Support Analysis, Supportable Low Observables, Support Hardware, and/or Technical Publications and Training
  • Must have experience in Supportability Engineering, including Reliability & Maintainability, DMSMS, Prognostics & Health Management, and/or fleet operational and sparing modeling.
  • Must have experience in proposals and capture activities for Product Support
  • Must be willing and able to travel up to 25%.
Basic Qualifications for Sr Principal Project Management (level 4):
  • Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline AND 8 years of related professional/military experience OR a Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 6 years of related professional/military experience, OR a STEM Ph.D. AND 4 years of related professional/military experience
  • Must have an active US Government Secret (or higher) clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.
  • Must have experience in the Integrated Logistics Elements: Reliability & Maintainability, Prognostic Health Management, Modeling & Simulation, Obsolescence Management, Fleet & Field Support, Support Equipment Engineering, Logistics Support Analysis, Supportable Low Observables, Support Hardware, and/or Technical Publications and Training

Preferred Qualifications (for level 3 or 4):
  • Experience working Product Support efforts on development and/or sustainment programs.
  • Previous U.S. Military experience with operations and/or aircraft maintenance background.
  • Previous experience in competitive capture proposals for Product Support
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, MS Project, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.

Primary Level Salary Range: $114,000.00 - $213,400.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $0.00 - $0.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
