Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Principal Engineer Supplier Quality or Sr. Principal Engineer Supplier Quality to join our Mission Assurance team in a 100% remote role, located within 30 miles of Long Island, NY, with extensive travel to surrounding states.

You will oversee supplier quality risk management, evaluation systems, and corrective actions, interfacing with suppliers and internal teams to ensure contractual and technical compliance across programs.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field. Master’s degree preferred for advanced roles.

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking to hire a Principal Engineer Supplier Quality or a Sr. Principal Engineer Supplier Quality to join our Mission Assurance team. This position will be a 100% remote role, but candidate must be located within 30 miles of Long Island, NY. This position requires extensive travel throughout surrounding states, which includes the ability to fly commercially on short notice to meet company commitments.

Responsible for Supplier Quality risk management. Develops and implements supplier quality evaluation and control systems. Assures supplier process and product quality, including contractual, regulatory, and technical compliance. Interfaces directly with supplier personnel and must be knowledgeable in and capable of assessing both supplier quality and manufacturing processes and procedures. Conducts product and process verification activities, monitors supplier quality performance, and drives root cause corrective action analysis for supplier quality issues. Supports the maintenance of the approved supplier list and periodically reviews supplier performance to determine whether suppliers should remain on the approved list. Manages supplier requests for waivers, deviations and discrepancy reporting process. Keeps management apprised of supplier performance, quality status, and risks. Coordinates and oversees Supplier Quality plan implementation through all program phases. Actively engages in supplier evaluation, qualification and selection as part of the Business Acquisition Process (BAP) and as new procurements are required on existing programs. Manages implementation of Supplier Quality processes, including supplier approval activities, source selection evaluations, supplier classification designation (Critical, Key and Standard), development and execution of supplier quality risk assessments and mitigation plans, and supplier quality requirements development and flow-downs.

Basic Qualifications

This role can be filled at Principal Engineer Supplier Quality (T3) or Sr. Principal Engineer Supplier Quality (T4)

Principal Engineer Supplier Quality

Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of Quality experience, or a Master’s degree and 3 years of Quality experience, or PhD and 1 year of Quality experience.

• Must have a Valid State Driver’s License to operate a motor vehicle and dependable motor vehicle to travel to local suppliers
• Must be able to travel up to 100% of the time with some overnight required
• Experience Manufacturing/Engineering with AS9100/ISO9001 Quality Management Systems
• Experience interfacing with suppliers/customers to meet quality objectives (e.g., Source Inspection, FAI review, RCCA, Process witnessing, On-boarding, Audits, etc.)
• Experience utilizing basic inspection tools (e.g. Calipers, micrometers) and interpreting engineering requirements (e.g., reading blueprints, specifications, contractual flow downs, etc.)
• Proficient with MS Office, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

Sr. Principal Engineer Supplier Quality

Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of Quality experience, or a Master’s degree and 6 years of Quality experience, or PhD and 4 years of Quality Experience.

• Must have a Valid State Driver’s License to operate a motor vehicle and dependable motor vehicle to travel to local suppliers
• Must be able to travel up to 100% of the time with some overnight required
• Experience Manufacturing/Engineering with AS9100/ISO9001 Quality Management Systems
• Experience interfacing with suppliers/customers to meet quality objectives (e.g., Source Inspection, FAI review, RCCA, Process witnessing, On-boarding, Audits, etc.)
• Experience utilizing basic inspection tools (e.g. Calipers, micrometers) and interpreting engineering requirements (e.g., reading blueprints, specifications, contractual flow downs, etc.)
• Proficient with MS Office, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

Preferred Qualifications

• STEM Degree (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math)
• SAP Business System experience
• Supplier Quality experience in Aerospace industry
• AS9100 Lead Auditor Certification
• Six Sigma/Lean Certification
• AS9102 FAI/ Net Inspect
• Digital Data/CMM interpretation

Primary Level Salary Range: $94,200.00 - $141,200.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $129,300.00 - $193,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
