About the Role

A highly experienced electrical engineer is sought to support complex initiatives within the nuclear energy sector. This position focuses on engineering leadership for major plant upgrades and new facility development. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in plant systems, equipment selection, regulatory considerations, and multidisciplinary project collaboration.

What You’ll Do

In this senior technical role, you will guide challenging engineering assignments from concept through implementation.

  • Leading the development of technical specifications, design criteria, and modification work packages.
  • Determining project scope, evaluating design options, and ensuring alignment with industry codes, regulatory requirements, and plant operational needs.
  • Coordinating with other engineering disciplines and client stakeholders to resolve technical issues and define optimal solutions.
  • Overseeing budgets, schedules, deliverable quality, and overall project execution with minimal oversight.
  • Reviewing and validating design outputs prepared by engineering teams.
  • Offering mentorship and technical direction to early‑career engineers.
  • Supporting on‑site evaluations, system walkdowns, and field assessments in industrial environments.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited program.
  • A minimum of 20 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • At least 10 years of direct involvement with commercial nuclear power operations, including hands‑on field exposure.
  • Strong understanding of industry standards, nuclear regulatory expectations, and plant licensing processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent assignments and deliver high‑quality technical work.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency with common productivity tools (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to meet site‑access requirements, including security screening, drug testing, and physical capability for field work (e.g., climbing, confined spaces, controlled areas).
  • Willingness to travel and support occasional overtime needs.
Preferred
  • Master's degree in a related engineering discipline.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license.
  • Experience leading teams in highly regulated, safety‑critical environments.
