RTX's Collins Aerospace facility in Troy, Ohio seeks a Principal Specialist Procurement to lead and optimize the supply chain, manage SAP purchasing processes, RFQ/RFP, and drive lean/six-sigma initiatives.

The role requires a university degree (or equivalent) with 5+ years of experience, or an advanced degree with 3+ years, plus strong supplier negotiation skills and experience with SAP and MRP. Travel up to 20% may be required.

Position Summary

Principal Specialist Procurement – onsite at Troy, Ohio facility within Collins Aerospace (RTX). Responsible for developing, improving, and monitoring the supply chain that meets or exceeds the quality, delivery, and cost objectives of the business. The role manages all functions of the purchasing process within SAP, including RFQ and RFP, and implements lean/six‑sigma purchasing procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead indirect and direct purchasing for a large manufacturing site.
• Procure materials, supplies, and services to meet quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
• Manage and perform all purchase order processes using the SAP system.
• Research, interview, monitor, and evaluate suppliers for quality, delivery, total cost, and service.
• Execute all functions of RFQ and RFP processes.
• Develop, implement, and monitor lean/six‑sigma purchasing procedures and policies.
• Train personnel as necessary.
• Drive value engineering efforts with key suppliers.
• Prepare and maintain purchasing reports, records, files, and related material.
• Ensure timely and accurate invoicing so vendors are paid correctly.
• Provide remote support to multiple sites.
• Support and help implement supply chain initiatives at site.
• Travel up to 20% as required.

Required Qualifications

• University degree (or equivalent experience) and minimum 5 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree and minimum 3 years of experience.
• Experience with purchasing and supplier negotiation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience sourcing direct and indirect materials.
• Scheduling experience.
• Project management and contract review experience.
• Knowledge of Lean principles and Six Sigma.

Other Information
