This critical role will be responsible for the alignment between material availability, production schedule, and contractual requirements in Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and Shop Floor Control systems. The successful candidate must have effective communication skills, an understanding of MRP in a manufacturing environment, and an aptitude for innovative solutions.

What You Will Do:

  • Physically receive and systemically induct customer and/or government furnished product(s) into Raytheon’s MRP and inventory systems of record. Manage the end-to-end process of receiving customer return units, processing them through refurbishment and upgrade value streams, and ensuring on-time shipment back to the customer.

  • Physically and systemically kit replacement hardware to customer return units in support of repair and upgrade activity. Work collaboratively with Engineering to determine replacement material requirements and coordinate sell-offs from production programs with department peers to support refurbishment and depot activity.

  • Initiate and manage procurement activities through timely release of purchase requisitions, partnering closely with Supply Chain to ensure uninterrupted flow of critical materials. Assess raw material positions and prepare detailed analyses and reports to inform leadership and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) of manufacturing progress, risks, and material constraints.

  • Maintain accurate inventory traceability, configuration accountability, and material control throughout the repair and modification lifecycle. This role supports multiple shared components owned by a variety of end users where inaccurate issuance of customer-owned material to the wrong customer can pose significant contractual and operational consequences.

  • Maintain inventory accuracy by performing hardware cycle counts in lab environments, verifying availability of sub-assemblies at point of use (POU), and supporting line readiness. Set and adjust production priorities in collaboration with factory leadership, value stream leadership, program management, and cross-functional stakeholders. Present customer unit production and material status to factory and IPT organizations, communicating urgent priorities, risks, and required support actions.

  • Walk between multiple buildings on campus, averaging 3,000 – 6,000 steps per day, in support of production and material movement activities. Ability to routinely bend, reach, and lift items weighing up to 25 pounds.

  • This role will be onsite in our Goleta, CA Facility.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.

  • Experience to include planning, scheduling, production control, supply chain, manufacturing, operations, or experience in other production driven environments.

  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience utilizing lean manufacturing concepts with a proven track record of lean or six sigma project implementations.

  • Experience managing Customer-Furnished Material (CFM) and Government-Furnished Material (GFM), including inventory accountability, traceability, material control, and compliance with applicable contractual and regulatory requirements.

  • Experience with ERP or purchasing systems.
