Amazon Web Services, Inc. is seeking an experienced Principal Solutions Architect to drive cloud adoption for global financial services customers. You will lead architectural engagements, design scalable cloud solutions, and work with AWS Sales and product teams to accelerate revenue growth.
The ideal candidate brings deep technical architecture expertise, strategic thinking about business value, and strong executive communication skills to influence customers and partner teams worldwide.

Responsibilities
- Build and migrate applications, software, and services on the AWS platform
- Formulate and execute adoption strategies for AWS technologies
- Own the technical relationship with customers and advise on security, cost, performance, reliability and efficiency
- Educate customers and participate in deep architectural discussions for cloud deployment
- Conduct training sessions for customers transitioning to AWS
- Capture and share best-practice knowledge within the AWS solutions architect community
- Contribute to AWS customer-facing publications and whitepapers
- Build relationships with senior technical personnel to become cloud advocates
- Act as a technical liaison between customers and service engineering/support

Amazon Web Services (AWS) Global Financial Services (GFS) team is looking for an experienced and motivated technologist who possesses a unique balance of technical depth and strong executive engagement skills. As a Principal Solutions Architect, you will partner with some of the world’s largest financial services firms, AWS Sales and other AWS teams to craft highly scalable, flexible and resilient cloud architectures that address customer business problems and accelerate the adoption of AWS services.
This role will drive AWS technology adoption and revenue growth across a global financial services customers. As a trusted customer advocate, the Principal Solutions Architect will help organizations understand best practices around advanced cloud-based solutions, and how to migrate existing workloads to the cloud. You will have the opportunity to help shape and execute a strategy to build mindshare and broad use of AWS within global financial services customers.
The ideal candidate must be self-motivated with a proven track record in software/technology architecture or consulting. The ability to connect technology with measurable business value is critical to a solutions architect. You should have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, products, and technical challenges.
- Enjoy working with large, global customers. You will have a passion for connecting with, educating, training, designing, and building cloud solutions for global financial services customers.
- Have a deep understanding of large-scale, mission-critical solutions in financial services industry. The ideal candidate will have past experience working as a systems engineer/architect in financial services industry. You will enjoy keeping your existing technical skills honed and developing new ones, so you can make strong contributions to deep architecture discussions. You will regularly take part in deep-dive education and design exercises to create world-class solutions built on AWS.

- As a key member of the customer account team, ensure success in building and migrating applications, software and services on the AWS platform,
- In partnership with the customer account team, formulate and execute strategy for successful adoption of AWS technologies,
- Solutions Architects own the overall technical relationship between customers and AWS and make recommendations on security, cost, performance, reliability and operational efficiency.
- Educate customers of all sizes on the value proposition of AWS, and participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud
- Conduct one-to-few and one-to-many training sessions to transfer knowledge to customers considering or already using AWS,
- Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AWS solutions architect community,
- Author or otherwise contribute to AWS customer-facing publications such as whitepapers,
- Build deep relationships with senior technical individuals within customers to enable them to be cloud advocates,

- 15+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
- Experience developing technology solutions and evangelising end-to-end technology roadmaps that guide IT transformations toward cloud computing
- Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences and at C-level, including training, workshops, publications
- Knowledge of distributed systems design and implementation or equivalent
- Knowledge of large scale automation and workflow management or equivalent
- Knowledge of presentations and whiteboarding skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with internal and external executives, IT management, and developers
- Experience architecting, migrating, transforming or modernizing customer requirements to the cloud

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
