Job summary

Cotality is seeking a Principal Software Development Engineer to lead the redesign of the Semantic Layer Web Service and its evolution into a high-scale AI-enabled platform. You will mentor teams, architect knowledge representation, and drive automated testing and advanced reasoning across enterprise data assets.

The role requires deep expertise in Python, Graph/RAG architectures, and cloud deployment, with a strong emphasis on scalable, high-availability systems.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, AI, or related field; 10+ years engineering experience.
• Proven experience designing, scaling, production web services in asynchronous Python.
• Deep knowledge of knowledge representation, ontologies, and graph reasoning.

Responsibilities

• Architect and evolve the Semantic Layer, scaling from 130 attributes to thousands.
• Lead the delivery team, owning architectural vision for knowledge representation and semantic search.
• Implement GraphRAG architectures for global reasoning across enterprise data assets.
• Develop robust backend services bridging enterprise data with AI using Python and FastAPI.
• Collaborate with Data Science to design intelligent routing using SLMs and LLMs.
• Automate ontology management and entity linking to remove bottlenecks.
• Establish automated testing with metrics like Faithfulness and Context Precision (RAGAS).
• Conduct expert code reviews and enforce AI engineering standards.
• Drive TDD with unit and integration tests; ensure non-deterministic pipelines reliability.
