Job summary

Zocdoc is hiring a Senior Staff Data Platform Engineer to elevate the analytics and data infrastructure powering trusted decision-making. You’ll set platform standards, drive cross-domain initiatives, and ensure a secure, reliable, and cost-efficient data ecosystem used by product, engineering, operations, and leadership.

This senior IC role is open to remote candidates across the United States and emphasizes architectural leadership, governance, and collaboration with multiple teams.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, Platform Engineering, or Backend Software Engineering.
• Operated at Staff-level scope with cross-team technical influence.
• Expert SQL skills and strong proficiency in Python or similar languages.
• Deep experience with Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or similar warehouses.
• Hands-on experience with dbt and orchestration tools like Airflow or Dagster.
• Experience improving pipeline reliability, observability, and system performance.
• Proven ownership of warehouse cost optimization.
• Experience implementing secure data access patterns and working in regulated environments.
• Strong communication skills and ability to influence across technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Base salary offered is determined by a number of factors including the candidate's experience, qualifications, and skills. Certain positions are also eligible for variable pay and/or equity.
