PNC is seeking a Software Engineer Principal for the Developer Tools Team in Pittsburgh, PA. You will modernize the developer ecosystem, streamline tooling, and enable faster delivery across languages (C#, Java, Python, Node.js) with hands-on engineering and leadership.

You will influence reference architectures, inner source, AI-assisted tooling, and productivity enhancements while guiding teams through complex problem solving and best practices in software delivery.

Qualifications

• University degree required; 5+ years of industry experience.
• Certifications often required; comparable education/experience considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Aligns business and technology strategy with software solutions and developer enablement capabilities.
• Proposes, designs, and codes software solutions for complex engineering needs.
• Provides technical leadership across C#, Java, Python, Node.js and related tools.
