SailPoint Technologies Holdings, Inc. is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to lead the design and development of the Identity Security Platform, Atlas. You will bridge business goals with technical execution, shaping scalable microservices and infrastructure for SaaS products.
You will mentor teams, drive architectural decisions, focus on security, reliability, and performance, and collaborate with leaders across SailPoint to translate strategic objectives into actionable roadmaps.
SailPoint is defining the next era of identity security. Our unified, AI-powered platform seamlessly secures both the Human Fabric of your workforce and the Agentic Fabric of AI and non-human identities, completely eliminating organizational blind spots. Built on core principles like zero-standing privilege and contextualized risk, our platform transforms identity from a vulnerability into a strategic business advantage. Today, we are trusted by some of the largest, most complex organizations in the world to deliver intelligent, autonomous identity security at scale.
As a Principal Software Engineer at SailPoint, you will be a key member of our engineering leadership team, driving the overall design and development of our Identity Security Platform, Atlas. You will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between business objectives and technical execution. You will need to possess a deep understanding of our business landscape, including market dynamics, customer needs, and strategic goals. Your primary responsibility will be to translate this business insight into actionable technical requirements and innovative design solutions. You are immensely passionate about platform architecture, and delivering reliable, scalable microservices and infrastructure for SaaS products. You will interact with technical teams across SailPoint to architect systems that scale to process billions of events and support millions of users. You enjoy technical leadership, technical design and solving complex challenges as much as you enjoy getting your hands into the code. Every decision you make is based on that premise. Technology choices that scale – you understand our technology landscape, the direction that technology is evolving, when something will be obsolete, and can make sound decisions or assumptions based on those factors. Business minded - You understand our total addressable market and you know who our competitors are and what they are building. You understand where SailPoint is headed. You can balance immediate needs (escalations, customer satisfaction) and understand the long‑term impacts of your decisions. Urgency to scale (pace), you don’t get distracted by analysis paralysis. Thought leader - Be the evangelist of our SaaS Platform architecture and influence Product Management, Engineering leaders & entire SaaS Engineering to the reference architecture. You keep up with technology and the direction it’s going. You have a firm grasp on how to assess new tools and make informed decisions on whether or not change is in order. You have high communication standards for yourself and others.
