Job summary

UKG, the Workforce Operating Platform, is seeking an Engineer — Salesforce & Certinia PSA to design, develop, and support enterprise solutions on Salesforce and Certinia PSA. The role emphasizes Apex, LWC, flows, SOQL, APIs, and data models, with a focus on scalable, secure integration across enterprise systems.

You will collaborate with product owners, QA, architects, and integration teams, participate in code reviews, and contribute to DevOps practices.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of experience in software development on the Salesforce platform.

About the Team

The Enterprise Solutions and Experience team is seeking an Engineer -- Salesforce & Certinia PSA to join our engineering team. In this role, you will design, develop, and support scalable enterprise solutions on the Salesforce platform, with a strong focus on Certinia PSA and integrations with other enterprise applications. You will collaborate with product owners, business analysts, architects, QA engineers, integration teams, and other engineering groups across the company to deliver reliable and scalable business capabilities.

About the Role

You will be responsible for the design, development, implementation, and support of enterprise applications built on Salesforce and Certinia PSA. The ideal candidate will have strong hands‑on Salesforce development experience with Apex, Lightning Web Components, Salesforce Flows, SOQL, APIs, and platform security, along with working knowledge of Certinia PSA business processes and data models. This role requires a strong engineering mindset, with the ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions, troubleshoot issues across integrated enterprise systems, and contribute to software engineering and DevOps best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable Salesforce and Certinia PSA solutions.
• Develop custom Salesforce functionality using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), SOQL/SOSL, Salesforce Flows, and platform configuration.
• Configure and extend Certinia PSA capabilities supporting professional services business processes.
• Develop solutions supporting key PSA areas including: Projects, Project Templates, Resource Requests, Resource Assignments, Resource Management, Timecards, Milestones, Project Financials, Billing Events.
• Design and develop integrations between Salesforce/Certinia and enterprise applications using REST/SOAP APIs, Platform Events, and asynchronous integration patterns.
• Build scalable and maintainable solutions while adhering to Salesforce governor limits, bulk‑processing standards, security requirements, and platform best practices.
• Develop asynchronous processing solutions using Queueable Apex, Batch Apex, Scheduled Apex, and Platform Events, where appropriate.
• Analyze and troubleshoot complex application, integration, and data issues across Salesforce, Certinia, and downstream enterprise systems.
• Develop and maintain high‑quality Apex unit tests and support automated regression and integration testing.
• Conduct hands‑on code reviews and pull‑request reviews, ensuring adherence to engineering standards and development best practices.
• Participate in technical design discussions and contribute to solution architecture decisions.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, QA/SDET engineers, architects, and integration teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Support CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, release validation, and production support.
• Identify opportunities to leverage native Salesforce and Certinia capabilities before introducing custom development.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on application performance, maintainability, reliability, and developer productivity.

About You

• 5–7 years of experience in software development, with strong hands‑on experience developing applications on the Salesforce platform.
• Strong development experience with: Apex, Apex Triggers, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Salesforce Flows, SOQL/SOSL, Custom Objects, Validation Rules, Custom Metadata and Custom Settings.
• Strong understanding of Salesforce platform architecture and governor limits.
• Strong understanding of Salesforce security including: Profiles, Permission Sets, Roles, Sharing Rules, CRUD/FLS, Record‑level security.
• Experience designing and developing bulkified, scalable Apex solutions.
• Experience with asynchronous Salesforce processing patterns including Batch Apex, Queueable Apex, and Platform Events.
• Hands‑on experience with Certinia PSA / FinancialForce PSA, including an understanding of the PSA data model and core professional services processes.
• Experience with Salesforce integrations using REST and SOAP APIs.
• Experience troubleshooting integrations across multiple enterprise applications.
• Understanding of authentication mechanisms including OAuth 2.0, Connected Apps, and Named Credentials.
• Experience with Git‑based source control and collaborative software‑development practices.
• Experience with CI/CD and automated Salesforce deployment processes.
• Strong problem‑solving, debugging, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with cross‑functional and geographically distributed teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Salesforce Platform Developer I certification.
• Salesforce Platform Developer II certification is a plus.
• Certinia PSA certification or significant hands‑on Certinia implementation experience.
• Experience with Salesforce Sales Cloud and enterprise CRM solutions.
• Experience with professional services business processes such as: Opportunity‑to‑Project, Resource Planning, Resource Assignment, Time Management, Project Financials, Billing.
• Experience with enterprise integration platforms such as Informatica/IICS, MuleSoft, Boomi, or equivalent.
• Knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Copado, or Gearset.
• Experience working with event‑driven and asynchronous enterprise integration architectures.
• Experience supporting large‑scale enterprise SaaS applications.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
• Familiarity with automated unit, integration, API, and regression testing practices.
