Job summary

Walmart Global Tech is seeking a technical leader to drive GenAI-enabled supply chain innovations for the Merchant domain at Walmart scale. You will architect and implement scalable, consumer-facing systems, mentor teams, and partner with business and product stakeholders to align long-term goals.

The role emphasizes hands-on prototyping, architecture, and delivering reliable software for large user bases, with strong communication and collaboration to influence stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/CE or related field with 5 years’ software engineering experience, or 7 years’ experience.
• 7+ years of software engineering or related experience.
• Experience with AI agent development and LLMs.
• Proficiency in Java and Python.
• Experience with REST API design and SOA.

What you’ll bring:

• Atleast 7 years of Software engineering Experience building highly available, large‑scale systems in commerce, retail tech, or distributed environments.
• Hands‑on and architectural experience in AI agent development using LLMs and related frameworks.
• Proficiency in modern programming languages(Java, Python) and experience working with large datasets at scale.
• Hands‑on experience designing and implementing event‑based systems using technologies such as Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar messaging platforms.
• Strong experience with cloud services on platforms like Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including designing scalable, secure, and cost‑efficient solutions.
• Strong knowledge of Web Services (REST), API design, ORM, and Service‑Oriented Architecture.
• Deep understanding of system design principles, operational excellence, and delivering reliable software for large user bases.
• Ability to design solutions for complex business challenges, balancing long‑term architecture with short‑term trade‑offs.
• Strong analytical and decision‑making skills.
• Proven experience mentoring engineers in technical problem‑solving and career growth.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including consensus building and influencing stakeholders.

Sunnyvale, California US-11656: The annual salary range for this position is $143,000.00 - $286,000.00

Bentonville, Arkansas US-30002: The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
