Intuit Inc. in Oakland is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to own the architecture across iOS, Android, GraphQL, Webview, and Front End for the Credit Karma Application.

You will lead end-to-end technical initiatives, mentor senior engineers, and align product, design, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality, scalable client experiences that drive customer value in a fast-paced, globally distributed environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience developing systems/software for large business environments.
• 7+ years of experience designing complex distributed systems, platforms, or business applications.
• Proven expertise in native mobile development for iOS (Swift/SwiftUI) and Android (Kotlin).
• Experience architecting and maintaining Webview-based hybrid experiences bridging native and web.
• Deep expertise in front-end web development (JavaScript/TypeScript, React).
• Strong hands-on experience with GraphQL schema design, resolvers, and client-side integration.

Come join Intuit as a Principal Software Engineer and help us power prosperity around the world! We're looking for a technical leader to own the architecture and technical direction across our iOS, Android, GraphQL, Webview, and Front End platforms for the Credit Karma Application.

You’ll work with a passionate group of engineers, product managers, and designers to shape how our native client and web experiences work together, and you’ll bring deep software engineering craft to some of the most customer-facing surfaces at Intuit. Responsibilities

• Performance & App Quality: Champion the delivery of high-quality mobile app experiences. Drive rigorous performance standards (e.g., app startup times, smooth rendering, crash-free sessions) and set engineering benchmarks for quality, security, and maintainability that the entire organization adopts.

• Architectural Vision: Anticipate challenges that need fundamentally new solutions and shape the long-term technical direction across our iOS, Android, GraphQL, Webview, and Front End platforms.

• Native & Webview Strategy: Guide our architectural strategy to ensure high performance and seamless interoperability between our core native (iOS/Android) foundations and embedded web experiences.

• End-to-End Execution: Drive significant technology initiatives end-to-end, including horizontal layers of the client architecture spanning native and web environments.

• System Design: Design scalable, resilient, and adaptive systems that unlock innovation, velocity, and value across platforms.

• GraphQL Ownership: Own the design and evolution of our GraphQL layer, including schema design, performance, and client integration patterns.

• Cross-Functional Alignment: Partner with product management, design, and cross-functional engineering teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions. Align stakeholders across teams and business units to drive execution and unblock delivery.

• Mentorship & Team Strategy: Coach and mentor senior and staff-level engineers; advise leadership on team structure and engineering practices.

• Industry Leadership: Provide perspective on leading industry trends, new and emerging technologies, and engineering process improvements.

Qualifications

Technical Qualifications

• Overall Experience: 10+ years of experience developing systems/software for large business environments.

• System Architecture: 7+ years of experience designing complex distributed systems, platforms, or business applications.

• Native Mobile: Proven expertise in native mobile development for iOS (Swift/SwiftUI) and Android (Kotlin).

• Hybrid Systems: Experience architecting and maintaining Webview-based hybrid experiences bridging native and web.

• Front-End Expertise: Deep expertise in front-end web development (JavaScript/TypeScript, modern frameworks such as React).

• GraphQL: Strong hands‑on experience with GraphQL schema design, resolvers, and client-side integration.

• Cloud Infrastructure (Bonus): Prior experience working in a cloud computing environment like AWS/GCP is a plus.

• Education: BS/MS in Computer Science or related field.

• Strategic Influence: Track record of influencing technical strategy across teams and business units. Demonstrated ability to drive results across cross-functional, globally distributed teams.

• Mentorship: Strong mentoring skills; able to develop technical leaders and shape engineering culture.

The expected base pay range for this position is:
Oakland $261,500 - $353,500
