Job summary

Palo Alto Networks is seeking a Principal Software Engineer for the Prisma AIRS Runtime Security team in Santa Clara. You will drive architectural vision, design scalable backend systems, and mentor engineers to advance security-focused AI runtimes.

You will partner with executives, product, UX, ML, and cross-functional teams to deliver enterprise-grade AI security solutions while optimizing performance and resource use at scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or related field with 10+ years of experience, or Master's with 8+ years.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional collaboration with PM, SRE, ML, and QA to deliver enterprise-grade security services.
• Translate product vision into resilient backend architectures across services.
• Drive performance and efficiency optimizations for high-throughput workloads.
• Advocate modern engineering practices and scalable workflows within the team.
• Architect large-scale enterprise systems with model serving infrastructure.
• Mentor and develop senior engineers to elevate engineering excellence.
