Job summary

Epogee, a subsidiary of Medici Brands, seeks a Principal Separation Scientist to lead HPLC and GC method development in New York City. This hands-on role focuses on providing objective data across multiple discovery workstreams and integrating AI tools to accelerate research.

You will report to the Director of R&D, collaborate with the analytical team, and contribute to regulatory submissions with rigorous documentation and data integrity.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry or related field.
• 5+ years of hands-on HPLC and GC experience, ideally in food, lipid, or pharma chemistry.
• Ability to troubleshoot instrumentation and methods independently.
• Strong judgment on matching analytical rigor to project stage and business need.
• Excellent documentation habits and data integrity.

Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and execute HPLC and GC/GC‑MS methods for lipid and other molecular characterization.
• Support multiple discovery workstreams, coordinating with team members.
• Recommend analytical approaches based on project stage and business need.
• Independently troubleshoot instrumentation, methods, and data anomalies.
• Support method validation, gauge R&R, and documentation for regulatory submissions.
• Grow expertise into rheology and benchtop NMR as needed.
• Maintain rigorous documentation and data integrity standards.
• Partner with instrument vendors and service providers on qualification and maintenance.
