Job summary

Overview

Raytheon Technologies (RTX) is a leading aerospace and defense company. This role is onsite in Tucson, AZ, and requires an active DoD Secret security clearance with U.S. citizenship. The position involves Electrical Systems Engineering for radar and RF sensor calibration within the Advanced Effector Guidance Systems team.

What You Will Do
  • Own the radar subsystem calibration process, schedule, risk, and maturation strategy (including radome, RF sensor, and IMU).
  • Develop a deep technical understanding of the calibration process, tools, and requirements.
  • Document the calibration process and its maturation via workflows and knowledge point plans.
  • Collaborate with multiple program teams and off-program teams to calibrate seeker subsystems and verify calibration quality.
  • Engage with suppliers, design teams, and test teams/facilities.
  • Conduct technical peer reviews and serve as subject matter expert for radar/RF integration topics.
  • Support lab testing, field test events, and root-cause failure analysis for radar and RF subsystems.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum of 8 years of relevant flight avionics experience in electrical hardware development, sub-systems, systems engineering, requirements development and/or validation.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government-issued security clearance (Secret) and U.S. citizenship.
  • Experience in developing RF electrical subsystems, radar hardware, or RF seeker architectures.
  • Experience in subsystem or systems engineering, requirements development, and validation.
Qualifications We Value
  • Understanding of thermal, electrical, and microwave physics dependencies.
  • Hands-on experience with missile radar or RF seeker subsystems.
  • Background in detailed design, troubleshooting, and integration of radar/RF components.
  • Experience with systems engineering and architecture; missile systems or high-reliability products.
  • Knowledge of mixed-signal electronics; DoD/DoW hardware development processes.
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and cross-functional collaboration with suppliers.
