Job summary

Raytheon in Andover, MA is seeking a Principal Semiconductor Fab In-Process RF Test Engineer to join our RF Microelectronics team on-site. You will work with RF test engineers to test GaAs and GaN MMICs and support roadmaps from near-term production to longer-term development.

The role requires hands-on experience on the foundry floor, a strong background in RF testing, and the ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance. This is an on-site position with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field is required.
  • 10+ years of RF semiconductor testing experience; advanced degree may count for up to 3 years.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance (U.S. citizenship required).
  • Master’s or PhD preferred; experience with GaAs/GaN/GaSb and acoustic semiconductors is valued.

An exciting opportunity exists at Raytheon for a Principal Semiconductor Fab In-Process RF Test Engineer to join our semiconductor foundry engineering team within the RF Microelectronics/Module Development & Foundry Services Department. The successful candidate in this role would work with a group of skilled RF test engineers to test advanced microelectronic devices in accordance with various technology roadmaps in support of Raytheon’s business pursuits. These road maps consist of both near term efforts on the cusp of transition-to-production, as well as longer term development efforts that maintain a pipeline of innovation. The ideal candidate will possess experience in production testing and III-V semiconductor processing, with a preference for expertise in GaAs, GaN, GaSb, or acoustic devices.

Presence on the foundry floor is essential for understanding technical and logistical issues. The role requires a large degree of multitasking with attention to detail while managing priorities depending on the nature of the problems and the commitments to customers and programs.

This role will be 100% on-site and based in Andover, MA.

What You Will Do
  • Perform and supervise in-process RF measurements on GaAs (Gallium Arsenide) and GaN (Gallium Nitride) MMICs, transistors and test structures.
  • Improve test procedures and work to improve test-related product yield issues.
  • Consult on new equipment purchases and work to increase test speed, accuracy, and throughput.
  • Drive install, qualification, and process matching of new test equipment in the foundry Trouble-shoot test issues and mentor test engineers
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a Bachelors Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (STEM) Field.
  • Over ten (10) years of relevant experience in RF semiconductor testing. (An advanced STEM degree could count for up to 3 years of experience).
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Prefer
  • A Master’s degree or PhD. in a Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (STEM) Field
  • Experience working with GaAs, GaN, GaSb, and/or acoustic semiconductor processes
  • Demonstrated experience in semiconductor process engineering, specifically in production in-process test
  • Extensive experience in the development of test systems and associated software
  • Knowledge of Statistical Process control and related SPC software
  • Knowledge of root cause analysis techniques
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Customer focus and collaboration skills
  • Previous experience with a defense contractor and/or government agency.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Current DoD Secret level security clearance

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
