Job summary

Ascensus is seeking a Principal Security Engineer to design and implement enterprise security solutions and shape security strategy. You will mentor engineers and collaborate across SOC, threat intel, and IT teams to drive resilience.

The role requires deep technical expertise, strategic thinking, and the ability to lead major security initiatives while ensuring governance and compliance with industry standards.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in security engineering, cybersecurity operations, or security architecture roles.
• Strong expertise in NGFW, WAF, EDR, IDS/IPS, DLP, SSO/MFA, IAM, SIEM.
• Cloud security experience (AWS, Azure, GCP) and Zero Trust architectures.
• Automation and scripting in Python/PowerShell/Bash for security engineering.
• Experience with risk assessments, threat modeling, and security controls validation.
• Advanced knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent communication and ability to translate security concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
• Professional security certifications preferred: CISSP, OSCP, CISM, CEH, GSEC.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize security solutions to protect enterprise assets, data, and systems.
• Provide technical guidance in evaluating, selecting, and deploying security tools and frameworks.
• Develop and implement security automation and integration across platforms using scripting languages.
• Collaborate with SOC, threat intelligence, and IT teams to identify and remediate security risks.
• Ensure security solutions align with regulatory requirements and controls.
• Provide advanced security engineering support for incidents, including root-cause analysis.
• Lead large security projects with proper documentation and risk assessments.
• Stay ahead of threats and industry trends to enhance security posture.
• Mentor security engineers and share knowledge through training and documentation.
