Job summary

7AI is seeking a Principal Security Engineer to shape AI-driven security operations across cloud and enterprise environments. You’ll decide where AI can reliably take over tasks and work directly with customers to rebuild their security operations around the platform.

You will lead incident response strategy, detection engineering, automated response, threat hunting, and security automation, while mentoring teams and collaborating with product, engineering, and research to drive the roadmap.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in cybersecurity, including SOC/Blue Team roles.
• Strong experience with SOAR platforms and security automation.
• Hands-on coding experience with Python or similar languages.
• Experience collaborating with customers.
• Strong understanding of enterprise security architectures.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Overview

Security operations centers are stuck doing work that shouldn't need a human at all, and most AI added to the SOC so far hasn't closed that gap. As Principal Security Engineer, you'll decide where AI can reliably take over detection, investigation, and response, and where it still needs a human in the loop. You'll shape platform strategy across cloud and enterprise environments, then work directly with customers as they rebuild their security operations around it.

What You'll Do

• Lead our AI cybersecurity defense work, including incident response strategy, detection engineering, automated response, threat hunting, threat research, and security automation.

• Collaborate with product, engineering, and research teams to shape the platform roadmap and our AI security solutions.

• Work directly with customers, understand their security posture and processes, and guide their AI security transformation.

• Build and automate realistic attack simulations, adversary emulation scenarios, and large-scale security environments.

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship on security best practices, automation design, and incident response methodology.

What We're Looking For

• 15+ years of experience in cybersecurity, including significant time in SOC, Blue Team, Detection Engineering, Threat Hunting, or Incident Response roles, with strong experience in SOAR platforms and security automation frameworks.

• Deep understanding of modern security operations, attacker methodologies, and enterprise security architectures.

• Hands‑on coding experience with Python or similar languages.

• Experience collaborating directly with customers.

• Strong understanding of security concepts across endpoint, identity, cloud, and networking.

• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

• Genuine interest in AI-driven security operations and autonomous defense systems.
