Job summary

Genentech is seeking a Principal Engineer/Scientist in Pharma Technical Development to lead scalable microbial (E. coli) process development for biologics. The role supports CCBO and collaborates across R&D, manufacturing, quality, and regulatory groups.

Qualifications

Advanced degree in Chemical Engineering or related field with 8+ years (MS) or 4+ years (PhD) in E. coli or microbial process development.
Advanced technical experience in E. coli or other microbial process development, characterization and validation.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to lead cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

Develop scalable, robust, efficient, and sustainable microbial (E. coli) processes for biologics production.
Collaborate with research, manufacturing, quality, and regulatory functions on CMC deliverables.
Author regulatory filing sections and prepare responses for Health Authority Q&A.
Advocate for and influence stakeholders on new technology implementation.
Stay informed on industry trends and advancements in microbial process technology.
