Job summary

Base pay range

$185,000.00/yr - $215,000.00/yr

**Posting for our client, Isotovia Biosciences **

We are looking for an outstanding Principal Scientist to join our Discovery team at Isotovia Biosciences, a new company in San Carlos. This individual will be a part of an integrated highly motivated team developing Attobody-based therapeutic molecules. As a vital member, the successful candidate will play a key role in building the foundation of the company’s Discovery organization. This is an on-site position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for Attobody discovery campaign using yeast and phage display technology, including design, execution and troubleshooting.
  • Perform hands-on Attobody discovery workflow, from library construction, library panning, output screening, single clone attobody characterization and data analysis.
  • Antibody characterization includes affinity and specificity determination, epitope binning and cell binding.
  • Document and maintain ELN (Benchling) with accuracy in a timely manner
  • Oversee outside vendors in matters related to protein production and characterization
  • Conduct in-depth data analysis, communicate data efficiently in project meetings in line with project timeline and goals.
  • Evaluate and assess new technologies and processes that could improve and streamline the discovery workflow.
  • Analyze and interpret data, identify problems, and develop troubleshooting strategies.
  • Proactively review scientific literature and provide strategic input and generate ideas for project
  • Assesses the needs of a technology platform or Isotovia program and coordinates activities over multiple functions to fulfill company objectives and program goals.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in biology or related field with a minimum of 10 plus years' experience in antibody discovery
  • OR a PhD in Biology or related field with a minimum of 8 years' experience in antibody discovery
  • Demonstrated ability to use and design in vitro antibody discovery display technologies (e.g., phage, yeast display) for discovery and/or engineering
  • Sanger sequence analysis experience
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated productivity and scientific independence with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Desire to work in a dynamic startup environment is essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong communication skills to work within a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Direct experience with Carterra LSA, Biacore SPR, Octet BLI and flow cytometry (iQUE)
  • Experience with robotic liquid handling systems is a plus.
  • Knowledgeable in recombinant protein production and characterization
  • Proficiency in GraphPad Prism, Geneious and Benchling
  • Demonstrated track record in managing multiple projects and prioritizing tasks to meet

schedules and timelines.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to present effectively to teams.
  • Proven contribution to therapeutic antibody development and selection is desirable.

Salary range:

  • $185,000-$215,000. The final salary offered is dependent on factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc.
