Job summary

Framatome North America in Lynchburg, Virginia seeks a senior software engineer to join the NDE solutions team. You will work with mechanical, electrical and software engineers to design, implement and test control systems for robotic inspection platforms.

The role requires a Bachelor's in CS/Engineering and 10+ years of related experience, with strong C++/C#, Linux, Windows development and .NET/MFC expertise. Travel to customer sites is expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 10 years of related experience.
  • Strong knowledge of core concepts, practices, and procedures in the area.
  • Understanding of network protocols and deployment across environments.
  • Experience with C++ and/or C# and with Linux and Windows development.
  • Experience with MFC and/or .NET.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with all staff levels.

You will be part of the proven team of Framatome's Nondestructive Examinations (NDE) Solutions Business Line in the Installed Base Business Unit. You will work with the Nondestructive Examinations (NDE) Engineering organization, which designs tooling and complex robotic systems to perform inspections of nuclear plants around the world! Our focus is on visual, ultrasonic, and eddy current exams. This role is a unique opportunity for someone who likes the idea of seeing lots of complex robotic systems get designed, built, and used every year!

What You'll Do Day-To-Day

  • Periodically travel to customer sites to see your designs put into action.
What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum of 10 years of related experience.
  • Expert knowledge of fundamental concept, practices and procedures in the area of specialization.
  • Understanding of network protocols and application deployment across environments.
  • Experience with C++ and/or C#.
  • Experience with Linux and Windows Development.
  • Experience with MFC and/or .NET.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve fundamental technical issues.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and management.
  • Ability to develop and maintain good interpersonal relationships; work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Ability to change priorities quickly, confront issues directly and work well as part of a team.
Total Rewards Package
  • Salary: $115,000 - $156,000, and may also include annual incentives and performance bonuses. The base salary range is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
