Job summary

Johnson & Johnson Vision in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Principal Engineer, R&D to lead and manage large equipment technology projects. The role requires a strong background in electrical/mechanical engineering, 10+ years in engineering, and experience with automation systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field required.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in engineering roles.
• Experience in Medical Devices, Pharmaceutical, or other regulated industries preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage Equipment Automation Capital Projects from Business Case Proposal and conception through closure.
• Manage project earned value and work completed.
• Evaluate and negotiate contract terms with equipment suppliers.
• Propose, assess, plan, implement, monitor, and close large equipment technology projects across Johnson & Johnson Vision.
• Perform design tasks, including development of requirements, system specifications, qualifications protocol generation, protocol execution, technical instructions, training, and protocol/test execution reports.
• Lead equipment commissioning testing activities to ensure successful implementation.
