Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal Engineer Quality in Baltimore, MD to lead quality systems across materials and products. You will partner with engineering and manufacturing to enforce standards, develop inspection processes, and perform statistical analyses to ensure compliance with ISO9001/AS9100 and MIL/IPC requirements.

The role requires a BS/MS in a STEM field with 3–5+ years of experience, ability to obtain a Secret Clearance, and US citizenship.

Qualifications

• BS in STEM with 5+ years in Quality/Manufacturing or MS with 3+ years.
• Experience with data analytics and statistics.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance; US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain quality evaluation processes for materials and products.
• Partner with engineering and manufacturing to uphold quality standards.
• Design and implement inspection and testing; perform QA analyses.
• Audit quality systems; drive corrective actions and continual improvement.
• Identify root causes and drive corrective actions to improve quality.
• Review contracts and drawings to apply ISO9001, AS9100, MIL, IPC standards.
• Interface with production roles and communicate with stakeholders.
• Define quality characteristics and develop control plans.
• Manage nonconformances and lead cross-functional containment.
• Create and interpret FMEAs and quality tools.
• Interpret drawings and GD&T to verify design compliance.
• Apply benchmarking to drive system-wide quality improvements.
• Facilitate team collaboration and project problem-solving.
