HDR is seeking a Principal Project Manager in the Water group to lead large, multi-discipline projects in Missouri. You will direct cross-functional teams, manage client relationships, and ensure deliverables meet scope, schedule, and budget.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's in Engineering, PE license, and 15+ years of related experience, including 7+ years in project management, with strong leadership and strategic planning abilities.

In the role of PrincipalProject Manager, we'll count on you to:

  • Direct and coordinate work of single or multidiscipline teams throughout the project’s lifecycle (from development & initiation to close-out)
  • Supervise large project staffs and act as mentor for less-experienced Project Managers with a focus on project management skills development.
  • Plan, direct and monitor all aspects of large multidiscipline projects, involving a large project Serve as a Champion for cross business group pursuits and initiatives
  • Establish client relations and be involved with marketing, contractual, design and production meetings
  • Serve as a PIC, Project Sponsor, Client Manager for select projects and clients
  • Responsible for any project assignment regardless of market sector, business class, size, visibility, number of disciplines, technical complexity or number of staff.
  • Produce and coordinate several projects concurrently
  • Conduct work sessions for deliverable development in conjunction with other staff and stakeholders
  • Partner with market sector and business class leadership to advance brand with regards to innovative technology and support staff engagement for use of these technologies throughout the area.
  • Coordinate staffing and workload through entire project life cycle, and ensure completion of deliverables on schedule
  • Track financial aspects of projects, and coordinate and adjust work effort with team to ensure that work is completed within parameters of agreed-to budget and schedule
  • Work with the Accounting, Operational and Business leadership for periodic project reviews
  • Implement QA/QC procedures
  • Perform other duties as needed including workshare management
Preferred Qualifications
  • PMP certification
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • 15 years related experience
  • A minimum 7 years project management experience

Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example: Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license.

  • MS Office and MS Project experience is required (Access experience would be plus)
  • Demonstrated leadership, business development and strategic planning skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
