The role includes capture work, budget oversight, and ensuring timely, quality results on complex defense programs.

The candidate will guide project teams, manage procurement-related efforts, and maintain compliance with DoD requirements while interacting with marketing and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree and 2+ years of PM experience or equivalent; advanced degrees as noted.
• Experience with EVMS and AGILE methodologies is required.
• Experience in proposal operations and Basis of Estimates with historical data.
• Proficient in Word, PowerPoint and Excel; risk management familiarity.
• Active Secret DoD clearance or ability to obtain Special Program access within 365 days.

Job Description

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Principal Project Management (Level 3) or Sr Principal Project Management (Level 4) to join our team of qualified, diverse, individuals who provide Logistics Planning Support, Aircraft Systems Integration, and Maintenance Support for assigned systems through analysis of Engineering Data Packages and Customer Directives.

The Principal Project Management / Sr Principal Project Management will oversee and manage the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between program management and planning, project team, and line management. Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives. Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with program managers, line managers, and clients.

Additionally, the successful candidate will lead the capture efforts to secure new or re-compete contracts, or task order business. Develops capture strategy including business solution for pursuit of opportunities; identifies potential customers, competitive assessments, teaming suppliers, and prices-to-win; participates in bid and proposal activities. Maintains on-going interaction with marketing.

Basic Qualifications for Principal Project Management

• * Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of Project Management experience, or master’s degree and 0 years of relevant experience, OR High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) and at least 10 years of relevant job experience may be considered
• * Experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS) and AGILE
• * Experience in proposal operations and development, including Basis of Estimates and historical data analysis
• * Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products such as Word, PowerPoint and Excel
• * Must be familiar with risk development and mitigation plans
• * Must have an active Secret DoD clearance with ability to maintain that clearance. Have the ability to obtain and retain Special Program access clearance within 365 days from submission is a condition of employment.

Basic Qualifications for Sr Principal Project Management

• * Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of Project Management experience, or 3 years with Master's Degree or 1year with PhD. 9 years of job-related experience may be considered in lieu of education
• * Experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS) and AGILE
• * Experience in proposal operations and development, including Basis of Estimates and historical data analysis
• * Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products such as Word, PowerPoint and Excel
• * Must be familiar with risk development and mitigation plans
• * Must have an active Secret DoD clearance with ability to maintain that clearance. Have the ability to obtain and retain Special Program access clearance within 365 days from submission is a condition of employment

Preferred Qualifications

• * Proficient with Microsoft Project
• * Experience in the development and sustainment of Technical Publications/Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs) and Training products
• * Active Top Secret clearance
• * Previous Project Management and Logistics experience

Primary Level Salary Range

Primary Level Salary Range: $94,200.00 - $141,200.00

Secondary Level Salary Range

Secondary Level Salary Range: $117,500.00 - $176,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
