Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal Program Cost Control Analyst (PCA) in Buffalo, NY. This full‑time onsite role supports the Multidomain Sensing, Targeting and Survivability division and features a 9/80 work schedule.

You will partner with program stakeholders to deliver EACs, forecasts, and financial analyses, ensuring cost controls and budgets align with government guidelines. U.S. citizenship is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of related professional experience or a Master’s degree with 3 years of related professional experience.
  • Consider 9 years of applied experience in lieu of a degree requirement.
  • Experience with Earned Value Management.
  • Experience with financial systems including cost performance reporting and analysis.
  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, conditional formatting).
  • U.S. Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with key program stakeholders to create and analyze reports, work on invoicing opportunities, and assist with monthly/quarterly tasks such as EACs, IPRS, and financial forecasts.
  • Interface with program managers, functional management, cost account managers (CAMs), and business managers to provide financial support and analysis, including budgets, schedules for contract work, funding profiles, sales outlook, cash forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Monitor costs and schedules on contracts requiring validated cost schedule control systems, performing Earned Value Metric (EVM) tasks such as WBS development, budget baseline creation, cost risk analysis/assessment, visibility reports, variance analysis, and estimate development.
  • Prepare analytical reports to ensure contracts remain within negotiated parameters and government cost control guidelines, maintain accurate expenditure records, project future expenditures, and submit timely requests for additional funding.
  • Support audits and reviews requested by programs, customers, and company management; assist with the Annual Operating Plan, Resource Plan, and Long Range Strategic Plan activities; and prepare financial inputs for internal reports and presentations (IPRS, dashboards, BARs, etc.).

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of related professional experience or a Master’s degree with 3 years of related professional experience.

  • Strong PC skills, specifically Excel proficiency (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, conditional formatting).
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Experience with government contracting across different contract types.
  • Experience with profit & loss reports on government programs.
  • Experience with cost analysis reports.
  • Experience with COBRA, COGNOS, SAP.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret level clearance.
Benefits and Compensation

The primary level salary range is $85,600.00 – $128,400.00. Employees may also be eligible for overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonuses, and additional incentives depending on the position.
