Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a leader to shape the multi-year strategy for cloud APIs, developer tools, and infrastructure integrations. You will bridge technical architecture and product strategy to evolve enterprise developer tooling and AI-first workflows.

You will guide the vision, strategy, and execution for developer interaction with Akamai Cloud, overseeing CLI, SDKs, and IaC tooling while aligning with OpenAPI standards and API governance.

Akamai Cloud Technology Group empowers customers to build scalable distributed applications across a simple cloud platform. Our Compute Foundations team creates core primitives, APIs, systems, and developer tools. We power compute interactions across the Akamai Cloud platform.

Partner with the best

You will lead the vision, strategy, and execution for how developers interact with Akamai Cloud. In this role, you will evolve enterprise developer tools and pioneer AI-first workflows.

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Crafting and driving the multi-year vision, product strategy, and execution roadmap for Akamai Cloud developer tooling

• Modernizing brownfield enterprise API paths while elevating API quality, consistency, and platform performance

• Pioneering next-generation developer interfaces for AI agents and LLM-driven workflows using Model Context Protocol endpoints

• Collaborating with engineering on API design guidelines, OpenAPI standards, schema governance, and API Gateway capabilities

• Overseeing product development for official developer tools including CLI, SDKs, and Infrastructure as Code providers

• Influencing strategy of streamlining and unifying the Developer Experience across multiple platforms to ensure consistency and efficiency.

Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For US based candidates only - the base salary for this position ranges from $159,600 - $287,400/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
