Job summary

M. C. Dean is seeking an experienced engineering leader for modular mission-critical manufacturing near Richmond, VA. The role emphasizes optimizing manufacturing processes, standardizing engineering practices, and mentoring junior engineers to drive continuous improvement across production lines.

The position requires extensive manufacturing experience, advanced degrees in engineering, and proficiency with design tools such as Revit MEP, Navisworks, and ETAP/SKM. 2nd shift flexibility is noted.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7+ years in manufacturing with Bachelor's in Engineering.
• 5+ years in manufacturing with Master's in Engineering.
• Detailed, motivated self-starter; able to lead in a team.
• Willingness to work 2nd shift 1 week per month.

Responsibilities

• Product support to Manufacturing (40%): coordinate with line foremen and superintendents to address design issues; identify and solve line challenges; establish and implement standard manufacturing processes; support engineering with templates and fixtures; participate in prototype builds and resolve line issues.
• Design and Engineering Standardization (30%): understand customer requirements and suggest design improvements; create standards and roll them out to the organization.
• Coaching and development (30%): coach less experienced engineers; participate in 3P, Kaizen and other departmental activities.
