Job summary

RTX in Aurora, CO is seeking a Principal Platform IAC Engineer to develop, maintain, and modernize Infrastructure as Code within a hybrid-cloud environment. This onsite role emphasizes automation, containerization, and secure, scalable deployments.

You will mentor engineers, design and optimize build/test pipelines across on-prem, virtualized, and cloud environments, and ensure compliance with strict security requirements for national assets. Active TS/SCI clearance is required.

As a Principal Platform IAC Engineer , you will play a critical role in developing, maintaining, and modernizing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions within a hybrid-cloud environment. This position involves hands-on engineering work as well as documentation and baseline control to support the development of a strategic national asset. You will apply your expertise in automation, containerization, and cloud technologies to deliver secure and scalable solutions.

Note: This position will be filled onsite at the RTX Facility Aurora, CO.

What You Will Do

• Leverage company and industry best practices to deploy, implement, modernize, and support IaC solutions.
• Customize and automate software tools, including the deployment of templates, dashboards, and scripts using frameworks such as Ansible and scripting languages like Python.
• Integrate container development and orchestration solutions, including Kubernetes and Docker.
• Design, architect, develop, and support build/test pipelines optimized for performance and scalability across on-premises, virtualized, and cloud-based environments.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to engineers on specialized tool usage and issue resolution, ensuring adherence to standards and best practices.
• Apply advanced knowledge of Python development, Helm chart engineering, and Kubernetes operations to enhance secure deployment solutions.
• Document engineering processes and maintain baseline control for the program environment

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typically requires a bachelor's degree in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience
• Experience with integration, cloud technologies, containerization, Infrastructure/Platform as a Service, Linux development, and microservices
• Experience with automation frameworks such as Ansible, Chef, or similar toolsets
• Experience with Agile Development Methodologies (e.g., Scrum, SAFe)
• Active and Current TS/SCI security clearance is required Day 1. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer

• Experience with application deployments to Kubernetes.
• Experience with Atlassian Tool Suite, Cucumber, Eclipse, GIT
• Experience implementing Scaled Agile Frameworks
• Experience deploying, configuring, and supporting CI/CD pipeline tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Artifactory)
• Experience with programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, Ruby, Bash, C++, C#, Go)General working knowledge of networks, storage, and virtualization Background in COTS/FOSS product installation, configuration, and integration Security Plus Certification
• Current / Existing CI Poly is highly preferred
