Description

Herspiegel Consulting is a management consulting firm focusing on the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. Our Adivo Associates unit is hiring a Principal to lead our Hamburg office towards further growth and excellence. We assist clients in building successful brands from preclinical phases through launch, and in developing and implementing brand-specific strategies and programs for in-line brands. Our services include brand strategy, market assessment, brand positioning, launch planning, lifecycle management, thought leader identification and engagement, and marketing and sales force training.

We are currently recruiting Principals to join our Hamburg practice.

Responsibilities
  1. Client and Business Development
  • Participate actively in senior management, contributing to German business development and engagement management.
  • Lead initiatives to grow the company.
  • Build and manage a network of client contacts.
  • Identify and close new and follow-on business opportunities.
  • Build and maintain client relationships, staying aware of industry trends to spot new opportunities.
  • Exceed client expectations consistently.
  • People and Relationship Management
    • Lead by example with integrity, motivating team members to serve client interests while achieving business goals.
    • Create a work environment that encourages learning and skill development.
    • Work effectively across organizational levels and with clients.
    • Mentor and coach junior and senior staff.
  • Delivery Capabilities and Industry Expertise
    • Recognized as a subject matter expert, translating industry trends and client needs into business opportunities.
    • Possess analytical experience, especially in Specialty Pharma and Rare Diseases.
    • Show strong analytical and problem-solving skills, especially in brand strategy.
    • Manage multiple projects, allocating resources to ensure timely, within-budget delivery.
    • Lead teams to exceed client expectations, fostering creative solutions.
    Requirements

    The ideal candidate will have:

    • Broad knowledge of the pharmaceutical/biotech industry, including marketing, product promotion, new product development, market research, and sales.
    • Understanding of management consulting operations, processes, engagement planning, and training.
    • Experience in developing commercial strategies, launch plans, line extensions, and lifecycle management.
    • Skills in product positioning and segmentation.
    Education and Experience
    • At least 2 years of leading project teams at the Manager/Senior Manager/Project Manager level, with a total of 6+ years in management consulting, preferably at a top-tier firm.
    • Bilingual in German and English; a third language is a plus.
    • Proven business development and engagement selling skills with existing and new clients.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, especially in brand strategy.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint.
    • Strong work ethic, organizational skills, attention to detail, and personal initiative.
