Job summary

Infinitum, based in Austin, TX, seeks a Principal Engineer, PCB Technology to lead development and improve PCB stators. You will direct characterization, support R&D, Manufacturing and Quality, and help qualify designs with suppliers using diverse lab equipment.

You will drive DFM improvements, create datasheets and documentation, and work with cross-functional teams to meet market needs while pushing IP portfolio growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent; MS EE is a plus.
• 10+ years of direct experience in PCB fabrication, CAM and test.
• Experience with lab equipment used in PCB stator characterization and design.
• Experience with PCB design, development, and network analysis.
• Proficiency with PCB design software (Altium, Genisys, Pentalogix, CAM350).
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to present technically.
• Ability to manage projects across departments to meet deadlines.
• Willingness to learn and adapt software tools for the role.

Responsibilities

• Define and develop manufacturing process for heavy copper PCBs.
• Engage PCB manufacturing equipment suppliers for process qualification.
• Transfer products to production with Product Engineering and Advanced Manufacturing.
• Design, simulate, prototype, and test circuitry and systems.
• Act as liaison between PCB stator suppliers and R&D/Engineering.
• Evaluate and characterize new products.
• Create datasheets, application notes, and training material.
• Lead prototype builds and product characterization; design evaluation boards.
• Perform fault analysis to drive DFM improvements and early testing.
• Write specifications and ensure designs meet customer/market needs.
• Stay current with semiconductor, assembly, packaging tools.
