Job summary

CLA (CliftonLarsonAllen) in California is seeking a Principal or Signing Director to join our Transaction Tax practice. You will lead client engagements, manage relationships, and mentor junior staff while delivering tax due diligence and planning services for acquisitions and dispositions.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of federal/state/international tax experience and a CPA license; JD/EA may be accepted in lieu of CPA.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop relationships with new business development, existing clients and mentoring team members.
• Deliver a full range of tax due diligence, structuring, modeling and other engagements related to acquisitions and dispositions by private equity groups, family offices and strategic buyers.
• Collaborate with SALT, International Tax, and Federal Tax Solutions teams as needed.
• Conduct tax due diligence reviews of tax returns, legal documents, and financial statements; write and review reports.

CLA is currently seeking a Principal or Signing Director to join our Transaction Tax practice.

How You’ll Create Opportunities In This Role

• Manage and develop relationships with new business development, existing clients and mentoring team members.
• Develop client relationships by delivering a full range of tax due diligence, structuring, modeling and other special project engagements related to acquisitions and dispositions by private equity investor groups, family offices and strategic buyers.
• Work with CLA specialty tax groups as needed (SALT, International Tax, and Federal Tax Solutions).
• Perform tax due diligence projects through a review of tax returns, legal documents, and financial statements, and write and review tax due diligence reports.
• Thrive in an entrepreneurial environment that offers a ton of flexibility, autonomy, and the encouragement to make things happen.
• Lead the engagement progress by monitoring time, budgets and deadlines for adherence.

What You Will Need

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• Minimum 10+ years of experience performing federal, state, and/or international tax compliance, planning, and consulting services
• CPA license certification required. A JD degree or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification may be accepted in lieu of a CPA license

The compensation range for this position in California is: $165,000.00 - $400,000.00

The compensation range for this position in Colorado is: $190,000.00 - $300,000.00

The compensation range for this position in Illinois is: $140,000.00 - 300,000.00

The compensation range for this position in Massachusetts is: $165,000.00 - $300,000.00

The compensation range for this position in Minnesota is: $130,000.00 - $400,000.00

The compensation range for this position in New York is: $340,000.00 - $400,000.00

The compensation range for this position in Viginia is: $165,000.00 - $249,000.00
