The role emphasizes strong problem solving, communication, and experience with NPI/Lifecycle processes, with on-site duties and occasional travel to support global Operations.

Qualifications

• MS/PhD in an engineering or science discipline plus 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with semiconductor laser design and silicon photonics.
• Experience with CPO, optical transceivers or components desirable.
• Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) and/or Product Lifecycle Management processes
• Experience of managing cross-functional teams successfully, interacting with a broad range of functions, skills, cultures, and personalities.

Responsibilities

• Model and design silicon photonics based laser with III-V gain materials, including InP Quantum Well (QW) and GaAs Quantum Dot (QD).
• Characterize laser gain material parameters, optimize device performance, and prepare samples for laser manufacturing.
• Define laser parameters with silicon photonics design teams and simulate performance.
• Collaborate with foundries and process teams on III_V integration, laser fabrication, testing, and optimization.
• Generate development schedules with Product Line Management and R&D to meet milestones and customer requirements.
• Manage CPO/NPO products through R&D NPI Phase Gate process and deliver to global Operations.
• Light travel for development activities: supplier engagement, design improvement, and process development.
