Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior Network Engineer to design, implement, and optimize LAN/WAN architectures for critical government-facing operations. You will lead routing, switching, security policy enforcement, and vendor coordination on-site at client sites in Denver, Albuquerque, or Germantown.

A DOE Q/TS clearance and 10+ years of experience are required. You will analyze network traffic, test new technologies, ensure compliance with DISA STIGs, and document configurations and procedures for

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience.
  • 10+ years of professional experience in network engineering, infrastructure design, and circuit troubleshooting.
  • Experience with routing and switching protocols.
  • DOE Q or TS security clearance required.
  • US citizenship required.
  • Deep knowledge of Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, wireless technologies, and network design principles.
  • Expertise in BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, STP, RSTP, VXLAN, and LACP.
  • Understanding of network security practices, system hardening, and organizational compliance standards.
  • Experience with DISA STIGs and other federal security frameworks required.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft DNS and Unix BIND systems.
  • Cisco certification is valuable; CCNA, CCNP, CCDA, CCIE, or another Cisco certification listed.
  • Juniper and Palo Alto experience is a plus.
  • Previous Department of Energy or similar federal-agency experience is preferred.
  • Less than 10% travel required.
  • Ability to work onsite at a client site in Denver, Albuquerque, or Germantown.

  • Create and maintain detailed network configuration, process, and procedure documentation.
  • Support mission-critical Department of Energy National Nuclear Security Administration operations.
