Job summary

Oracle is seeking an experienced engineer for the Network Region Build (NRB) Team to design, deploy, and operate large-scale global cloud networks and enable compute connectivity for new OCI regions.

You will lead network lifecycle projects, mentor engineers, and collaborate with automation to improve efficiency, while shaping runbooks, procedures, and roadmaps. Strong scripting and networking expertise are essential.

Qualifications

  • Experience in large ISP or cloud provider environments.
  • Exposure to Ethernet hardware (Broadcom/Mellanox).
  • Familiarity with networking protocols: VPN, DNS, DHCP, SSL.
  • Experience with Internet peering and inter-domain networking.
  • Experience with scripting or automation – Python preferred; knowledge of compiled languages.
  • Experience with automation systems, framework design/use and deployment.
  • Experience with network modeling and programming – YANG, OpenConfig, NETCONF.
  • Knowledge of network security design, system performance characterization, and testing.
  • Knowledge of data flow and telemetry design, deployment, and operation.
  • Excellent judgment in influencing product roadmap direction, features, and priorities.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in network lifecycle management through build and upgrade projects.
  • Collaborate with program/project managers to develop milestones and deliverables.
  • Use existing procedures and tools to safely execute network changes and develop new procedures when necessary.
  • Serve as technical lead for team projects and contribute to roadmap issues.
  • Lead the development of new runbooks and methods of procedures.
  • Mentor junior engineers and participate in operational rotations.
  • Provide break-fix support, serve as escalation point, and lead post-event root cause analysis.
  • Coordinate with networking automation services for development and integration of support tooling.
  • Develop scripts to automate routine tasks and serve as SME on software development projects for network automation.
  • Support network vendor software bug fixes and collaborate with vendor technical account team and internal QA to drive bug resolution.
  • Drive testing and qualification of new firmware and operating systems.

Job description

Network Region Build (NRB) Team – Responsible for deploying greenfield infrastructure, establishing network connectivity for new OCI regions, and enabling compute connectivity for child sites. The role designs, deploys, and operates large‑scale global cloud networks, supports automation, and collaborates with Network Automation to enhance efficiency.

Responsibilities

Range and Benefits

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $102,300 – $209,500 per year. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
