Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Principal Network Architect to lead the design and development of software for Akamai's global connectivity platform.

You will drive software-defined automation, improve reliability, and establish telemetry and observability to monitor traffic and security services. You will mentor teams, promote best practices in CI/CD and SDLC, and guide capacity planning and cost optimization across distributed routing, fabric, and edge security systems.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of relevant experience in network and software engineering
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
• Expert proficiency in Python, Ansible, Kubernetes and Source of Truth platforms

Responsibilities

• Leading the architectural design and development of software supporting Akamai's global connectivity platform
• Driving software-defined automation to reduce toil and improve reliability
• Establishing telemetry systems and observability stacks for real-time monitoring
• Championing CI/CD, SDLC standards across architecture and engineering teams
• Steering capacity planning and cost optimization across distributed routing and edge security systems
